At the moment our Management Committee is considering our policies.
Data Protection Policy
The Centre uses a team of volunteers to provide transport and other facilities for residents in its area who need to meet medical and other appointments.
In order to match volunteers with clients the centre needs to hold two distinct sets of data
- Client data which records basic details; name, address, phone number and, where known, an email address and a note of special circumstances such as possession of a disabled badge.
- Volunteer data which records name, address, e-mail address and phone numbers.
Both Client and Volunteer data is recorded on cards which are kept in a secure filing cabinet in the Centre’s office in Pangbourne Village Hall. These record cards also note history of trips made and pairings of clients and volunteers.
In addition Volunteer data is held on a computer managed by the Secretary in order to communicate news, details of events and policies to the Volunteers
The Centre is mindful of the need to secure the confidentiality of the personal data it holds and declares that none of this data will be passed to third parties and will be used only for the business of the Centre.
New Drivers
People offering to be drivers must have two letters of reference before we can consider them and give them training.
Other Policies
We are currently reviewing many of our other policies and will publish them in due course
